The Quantock Oak 4'6" low foot end bed brings traditional character and practical storage to a double bedroom. Chunky white oak tops, softened corners and tapered legs create a robust frame with a warm, rustic appearance that complements classic interiors.
Built using oak, pine and MDF components, the frame is finished in a modern attractive wax that enhances the natural grain and gives a low-sheen, tactile surface. The bed includes dovetailed drawers fitted with a modern rustic pull handle for reliable, long-lasting storage.
This design features a low foot end to help create a sense of space at the foot of the bed and to make layering throws and bed linen easier.
Carefully proportioned details such as tapered legs and chunky top rails give a hand-crafted look while the robust construction is intended for everyday bedroom use. The warm brown finish works well with neutral and country-style decors.
Regular light care will maintain the wax finish. Dust weekly with a soft, dry cloth and remove spillages promptly with a lightly damp cloth, drying the surface immediately. To refresh the finish, apply a paste or furniture wax sparingly following the manufacturer's instructions, then buff with a soft cloth to restore the sheen. Avoid abrasive cleaners or soaking the wood.
Keep the bed away from direct heat sources such as radiators and avoid prolonged exposure to damp or very dry conditions. Wipe up liquids straight away and do not allow water to pool on wooden surfaces. Use breathable bedding and good room ventilation to reduce moisture build-up, and move heavy wet items (for example damp clothes) off the bed frame promptly to prevent staining and warping.
Keep drawer runners and dovetailed joints free of dust and debris and do not overload drawers beyond normal use. Clean timber and MDF faces with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid prolonged wet cleaning. If drawer runners feel stiff, wipe them clean and test operation; minimal household lubricants may be used sparingly on metal runners only, avoiding contact with wood surfaces.
