Description

A classic kitchen essential, this chopping board is crafted from solid teak – a dense hardwood prized for its natural oils and resistance to water, stains and bacteria. Its 35 x 25 cm footprint makes it a versatile board for everyday food prep and serving.

The board features a built-in handle for easy lifting and carrying, and each piece is handcrafted so no two boards will look exactly the same. The high natural oil content of the timber reduces maintenance and gives a warm, long-lasting finish.

Available alongside wider options in the same range, this size is ideal where space is limited but a durable, attractive wooden board is still required. All sizes and weights are approximate due to the unique, hand-finished nature of the product.

While teak’s natural oils make the board low-maintenance, simple care will extend its life: hand wash, dry promptly and treat occasionally to maintain appearance.

  • Naturally water- and stain-resistant teak means less frequent conditioning and long-term durability in a busy kitchen.
  • Built-in handle gives easy grip for carrying, hanging or serving from worktop to table.
  • Handcrafted finish ensures each board has a unique grain pattern and warm colour variations.
  • Compact 35 x 25 cm size works well for chopping, slicing and as a serving board for cheeses or antipasti.
  • Dense, oil-rich timber helps resist bacterial growth compared with softer woods.

FAQs

How should I clean and dry a teak chopping board?

Always clean the board by hand with warm water and a mild detergent immediately after use. Do not soak the board or put it in a dishwasher. Rinse thoroughly, then dry upright or on its edge to allow both faces to air-dry and prevent warping. Regular prompt drying helps preserve the wood’s natural oils and appearance.

Do I need to oil a teak chopping board, and how often?

Teak contains high natural oil content and is virtually maintenance free, so frequent oiling is not essential. However, to refresh appearance and protect exposed cut surfaces, apply a food-grade mineral oil or board conditioner once or twice a year, or whenever the wood looks dry. Rub the oil in, allow it to soak, then wipe off excess and dry before use.
