This tall Root Block Column is hand carved from teak root and sculpted to a smooth finish that highlights the natural grain and contours of the wood. Its solid, single-piece construction makes it a striking pedestal for art, a compact side table for drinks, or a stable lamp stand.
Each piece is handcrafted so no two columns look exactly the same; variations in colour, grain and small markings from the wood's natural oils are part of the character of the product. All sizes are approximate due to the unique nature of the root material.
The column’s compact footprint makes it suitable for smaller rooms or to add height beside a sofa or chair. A shorter 45cm version is also available in the same Root Block Column range for lower display uses.
To protect both the column and floor surfaces, we recommend placing a protective pad or layer beneath the base. Routine gentle care will help preserve the carved finish and natural appearance over time.
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove loose dirt. For occasional deeper cleaning, gently wipe with a slightly damp cloth and follow immediately with a dry cloth to remove moisture. Avoid abrasive cleaners, ammonia or bleach as these can damage the carved surface and remove natural oils.
Keep the column away from prolonged direct sunlight and extreme humidity changes to reduce drying and cracking. If desired, an appropriate furniture wax or light wood oil can be applied sparingly to nourish the wood; always test on an inconspicuous area first and follow product instructions.
