These roof tiles are carved from reclaimed teak sourced from discarded boats and furniture, giving each piece a warm, natural character. The solid teak brings inherent durability and weather resistance, while the hand-carved surface makes every tile unique in grain, colour and texture.
Supplied as a set of 20 tiles, each piece is hand finished, so exact appearance and dimensions will vary slightly from the image. This artisanal approach means no two sets look identical, making them ideal for projects where natural variation and character are desired.
Please note these are a special-order item with an approximate 12 week delivery time. All sizes are approximate due to the reclaimed and hand-carved nature of the product. They are suitable for traditional roofing and decorative cladding where the look of natural teak is required.
Because the material is reclaimed teak, regular inspection and straightforward maintenance will keep the tiles looking their best for many years. Small surface differences, colour variation and patina are part of the appeal and add to the authentic reclaimed aesthetic.
For general cleaning, use a soft brush and clean water to remove loose dirt, leaves and moss. For more stubborn organic growth, mix a mild, non-bleach wood cleaner with water and gently scrub with a soft-bristled brush. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Avoid high-pressure washers which can erode the surface and damage the hand‑carved detail.
Teak is naturally oil-rich and weathers well, so sealing is optional. If you prefer the golden, freshly cut look, apply a teak oil or suitable exterior wood oil following the manufacturer's instructions and reapply periodically. If left untreated, the tiles will develop a silver-grey patina; both finishes are normal. Always test any product on a spare tile first.
