This large Root Forest Sculpture is a hand-carved artwork formed from reclaimed teak tree roots. Each piece is sculpted by artisans in Indonesia, producing a striking, naturally shaped sculpture that works equally well as a focal point indoors or as a statement in a garden.
Because every sculpture starts from a unique root form, no two pieces look the same. Surfaces show organic contours, natural grain and texture, and each item will vary in appearance, size and weight. The large size measures approximately 170–190cm high, making it a dramatic vertical feature.
The sculpture is crafted from solid teak root, a dense, weather-resistant hardwood known for its durability. While suited to sheltered outdoor display, consider its natural, rustic character when selecting a position so the piece complements surrounding planting or interior décor.
Please note these sculptures are handmade and finishes may vary. Small and mini versions are available in the same collection (approx. H 100cm and H 60cm), allowing you to coordinate multiple sizes for layered impact.
Regular dusting with a soft, dry cloth or a gentle brush will remove surface dust without harming the wood. For more stubborn dirt use a slightly damp cloth, wiping along the grain and immediately drying the area. Avoid bleach, ammonia or abrasive cleaners which can damage the wood’s natural finish and texture.
Teak root is naturally durable, but prolonged exposure to standing water, constant saturation or severe winter conditions can cause damage over time. Place the sculpture in a sheltered outdoor spot, elevate it off the ground if possible and consider moving it under cover during prolonged wet or freezing weather to prolong its life.
