This compact 20cm round board is hand-carved from a slice of teak root, offering a naturally rustic surface that works brilliantly as a chopping board, cheeseboard, placemat or small serving platter. The dense teak root provides a durable food-contact surface that resists wear in everyday kitchen use. Its small footprint makes it ideal for presenting cheeses and small bites, protecting tabletops as a placemat, or serving condiments and canapés in style.
Because each board is crafted from a natural root slice, sizes and appearance are approximate. The compact 20cm diameter and 2cm thickness make it easy to handle, store and move from kitchen to table.
This item is best cared for with simple, regular maintenance to preserve the wood’s appearance and longevity. Avoid prolonged soaking, dry thoroughly after cleaning and treat periodically with a food-safe oil to keep the wood nourished.
Wipe the board with a damp cloth and a little mild washing-up liquid after use. Never soak the board or put it in the dishwasher, as prolonged exposure to water can cause the wood to warp or split. Dry immediately with a clean towel and stand upright to air-dry fully.
Periodically rub a food-safe oil (for example mineral oil or a specialist board oil) into the surface to replenish natural oils and help prevent drying and fissures. Apply oil sparingly, allow to penetrate for a few hours, then wipe off any excess and buff with a soft cloth. Regular light oiling helps maintain flexibility and appearance.
